Yes, it's been a while since I've put a new song online. I've been busy trying to learn my new studio equipment. Lots up upgrading and lots yet still to learn. None the less I am constantly writing songs. The new one is called "The Drones". Click the link below to listen to the song for free. Glen Thomas - The DronesHere are the lyrics if you want to sing along. |O| Can you guess who this song is written about? ;-) THE DRONES (Ones that live off the labours of others) (Music & Lyrics Glen Thomas - Barking Eye Music 2010)
You think you are the Kings of "poppers" Preach the ground work for your game Simple minds that buy your poison And bite into, the big charade It's a dream that has redundant meaning You're a shadow lost without a soul Learn to play amongst the big boys Or leave well enough alone, and rewind
Goons that rule an empty fortress Bleeding those who earn their way Paint your ass with propaganda Swing the vote to set you free Task at hand you have your weapon of filthy lies and bloated glee Nothing gathered nothing learned yet You sink your ship in an empty sea.
You're the only one that eats your own stories, I'm just telling you You've got to wake up pretty early in the morning, to win one over me
Drones Drones Drones I don't think you're quite politically correct Drones Drones Drones
What were you thinkin' now How does it feel now I always get even now How does it feel?
What were you thinkin' now How does it feel now I always get even now How does it feel?
One who lives off the labours of others, just you wait and see Unworthy members of a noble and learn-ed music society Alright
Truths are not in your horizons It's easier to steal and wave Laugh and sing your tragic swan song The day will come you will be free For your flock shall see and grieve you dying and the world shall breathe a great rejoice Never sing the songs of pleasure If you know not where they've come.

Floyd, you never miss a trick eh? haha. I let Fingerbang hear it the other day and she knew right away what the "theme" of the song was. Thanks for the compliment. You know me, I love creative writing. It was fun to do. I have more mixing to fix on it but I just wanted to post it for the hell of it. Response has been great on it and it's been played over 40 times on Reverbnation so that's cool. I wish I could sing better but hey, I'm not a singer but it's enjoyable to try. ;-) At least I can say my music is 100% Freq. hehe

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack |O|. Did I mention I hated not having a computer for that long? My new one is sssssssso perdy xxxxoooo. Thanks for setting it up Freqy baby. Freq your song is so dead on the money. Talk about a great payback anthem to a bunch of jerks. I've heard a few versions of it but the one playing now on your main page is my fave. The middles section just plain out ROCKS ;D You're lyrics are perfect. My favorite line is Goons that rule and empty fortress. I sweet way of saying Gsis Murphy at the Canadian LMAO!! I'm sure they don't even see the depth of your words because as we all know here, there are deeper meanings. Thanks for the preview the other day of the Mike Cliffe project song and the new Flat Stanley music by the way. I see you having fun in your studio for a long long time. Thanks for the chocolate Easter bunny too. xxxxoooo

No problem Fingerbang. I think we did as much as we could to your old computer so it was time for a new one. Windows 98 was good but you can't beat the new system.
Glad you like the song. It's doing quite well on Reverbnation and climbing the charts. Lots of people like it but some don't, but that's what music is about. You write how you feel and hope a few enjoy what you do. The ones that don't can move on to other tastes. A lot of people like that middle section and a few say I sound like Alice Cooper vocally which is cool. I'm no singer but I'd rather sing on my own material than have to deal with singers with "singeritus". Believe me, there's a lot of those. I can think of one in particular that wrote a song about me. |O| Anyways, I have more songs coming. I'm still learning my new gear and keep working on the mixes. I'm not happy yet but it's getting there. I have the time, the gear, and the songs written so I'm in no rush.
Thanks for the cookies sweety. ;-) Love 'em!

Cool song Freq. You definitely have that UK music style in your writing. That's a good thing as I find what's going on in our own music genre repetitive and dull and in some cases, stupid. The UK have always been leaders in music originality. I like your voice especially on a few of your other songs. Most seem to expect American Idol type vocalists or ones that scream their fool heads off with swearing. To me, that's worn out and boring. Too much perfection and not enough O-natural if you get my meaning. Freq, I applause you for always writing music that is always experimental. It's enjoyable to listen to. To go from songs like Drones to songs you've written like Charlie Chaplin show a lot of depth which is something I don't see in most local artists. Your friend Mike Cliffe seems to be on your wavelength in experimental music. Both of you are so out there.
