Well, the new saga album is here featuring new vocalist "Rob Moratti" who replaces Michael Sadler who retired after 30 years with the band. Being a true Saga fan, I really had to wash away Sadlers influence in Saga before even taking a listen to the new album. Like most music these days, it takes a few plays for it to grow on you. Some reviews of Moratti's vocals have been way too negative. This guy can sing and to be perfectly honest, he's got the talent to go places. It's hard to erase 30 years of Sadler but I do believe Moratti will take the band into the future with a positive vibe. The new album is good with 3 songs that I really like after a few plays. The albums production is really solid except I find the guitar really dry in parts compared to the music behind it. I will also say that some of the guitar lines are actually annoying in parts. YES, I know, evil for me to say that since I normally love his playing. The drumming by Brian Doerner is good yet, I miss the feel and style of Steve Neugus on drums from his early years. Even Steve seemed to have lost his way on later albums before leaving Saga. My favourite Saga drummer has always been Curt Cress who did Saga's "The Beginners Guide to Throwing Shapes" album. I wish he had done the albums following that.
You can listen to a track off the new album on their official site here,

or venture to www.cdnow.com to hear snipets of all the songs on the album.
Some say it sounds like Dream Theater. Ummm. That would be incorrect as it is Dream Theater that sounds like Saga.. wink wink.
Some say that because they've never heard of Saga but they've been a Prog Rock staple for 3 decades in the same vein as "Yes".
Saga "IS" a Canadian band.. Wake up people and listen to Saga's library of music and see what you've missed.
