I just received my copy of the CD "Doctors, Devils and Drugs" by the Floyd Lee Band featuring Joel Poluck on guitar. Love it!! but it's not for everyone. A few tunes have a Big Sugar flavour but then others have a very traditional old school blues sound.. NO not the heavy metal version of slow blues... sheesh. Production is great on the guitar and vocals but the bass and drums are a bit flat sounding. Musicianship is top notch. What is cool about this CD is that it comes with a fold out brochure with info and a website to the movie that was made about this band.. YUP you heard me. They also have a movie that they are shopping around to film festivals.

Joel and I played in a band years ago in the 80's and I cannot believe the total shift in styles he has made since then. You'd never know it was the same player. It's great to have the ability and the open mind to do something like that. Anyways, if you like blues music, check out the CD and hopefully soon, the movie will play here in the old Soo.
