K... first let me say that I am a HUGE "Who" fan.. My brother got me hooked on them in the 60's when his bands use to practice at our house covering WHO songs.. 2nd, in my opinion, "The Who" died with Keith Moon and the last true WHO album is "Who Are You". The Who with Simon Phillips on drums kicked d**n good also but never recorded together except on Pete Townshed's solo albums ... Even Ringo's son Zak does a solid job on this latest partial Who offering but my final vote is that it's
"EL-Lamo"!
Sad but true. I've played it numerous times and without Keith Moon and John Entwhistle there is no drive and the album lays flat.. Believe me, I tried to get into it. There are a few moments but not enough to go out and buy it. It's definetly not worth the 2 decade wait between albums. The band seems to lack confidence or something
Always a great live show, keep your money and watch DVD's of their live concerts or buy old box sets. The new album just doesn't cut it as a Who album.
I recommend "my Generation", "tommy", "Who's Next", "Live at Leeds" and "Who Are You" as the WHO at their greatest, with the album Odd's and Sod's as a great compilation of rare goodies.
