fReq, Last night I was listening to the Soundtrack to the movie CatPeople. Bowie sings on the first track, then it's instrumental for a l o n g time, then I believe a bit more Bowie at the end. I really enjoy this, it's very full and sensual, and conveys all that very nicely. My point is, instrumentals, to me anyway, can be just as amazing as songs, when done right.

I totally agree. I'm a huge fan of instrumentals. There was even a song I remember written in the late 60's that some vocal group liked so much, they asked if they could redo the tune but add lyrics. What ended up happening was the instrumental was a hit and the vocal version became a hit years later.
The movie Cat People.. Is that the 70's movie? There is an earlier one. What's the song called.. I'll check it out..
