I'm like on cloud nine right now. The Police reunited on the 49th Grammy Awards and played great. Stewart and Sting were rock solid even though Summers looked a bit nervous. Both Stewart and Sting have been playing a lot lately with their own projects so that helped drive their song "Roxanne" pretty good as the opener for the show. I LOVE IT!
I've seen the Police on tour in their hey day and they're still one of my favourite live bands. Their tour starts off in Vancouver in May and they will hit Toronto and Montreal in July.. YES I'M GOING!
As for the rest of the Grammy's.. can someone kill Timberfake??
How can you possibly get such a fat head like that in the presence of the great Stevie Wonder and Tony Bennet. I would give my right arm to see Timberfake and Wonder in a vocal battle. Wonder invented the style that Timberflake and so many others have very cheesily tried to copy with horrible results. 2 words.. GIVE UP!
Other notable moments.. Shakira with her dress, dance, and body.
Enuff said.. (yowza) Pure eye candy. She could sing like a gerbil and I wouldn't care. I'd just turn the sound down..haha
Oh.. I hate John Mayers vibrato on guitar. He may be great but I don't like the vibrato.
Chili Pepers.. (them and Metallica are THE most overrated bands in history next to Nirvanna) Grammy winner?? Give me a break.
Was one of their awards for best vocal performance??? If so, that's absolutely retarded.
My biggest peeve about the Grammys was the attention paid to 3 unknown contest singers.. What the hell was that??? You have a room full of some of the greatest talent known to mankind in one room and you focus on 3 wannabees? Take the American Idol B.S. and shove it. That was a total joke. Not quite as big a joke as Timberflake singing into a hand held camera but damn close. I bet he kisses his reflection in the mirror every morning.
My predictions:
The Police will have the number one grossing tour of 2007.
For those who don't remember how big this band was or it's influence on other musicians,,, do some searching on Google and do your homework. When the Police hit it big, they influenced jazz, rock, progressive rock, country, reggae. They were the most original sounding band since the Beatles.
Prediction 2: Timerflake will still suck throughout 2007.
Prediction 3: People will finally realize that "Imogen Heap" is a genius with both her voice and her technology. I love her song
"Daylight Robbery". This is how out of touch the Grammy's are.
They had her as a newcomer.. Newcomer?? She's had a few albums out already.. Where the hell have you been?
