There have been a ton of rumours about me being in an accident over the past few weeks and not one of them even close to what actually happened. |O| Like come on and stop with the "stretching of the truth" already. True, I was in an accident. A car cut me off while I was riding my bike down Lake Street hill. They turned right at the bottom of Lake street onto a side street and didn't give me any room so I hit the curb and flew over the handle bars and landed on the curb with my back. The car didn't stop nor did I see the make of the car or the driver. The car was white and looked like a Grand Prix. In any case, I was going way too fast for my own good anyways. Thankfully I didn't land on my head. ;-)
I was off work for 4 weeks with injuries and then I was on light duty at work for a few weeks. I am doing fine now and took my first bike ride today since my accident. Although still sore, it's nowhere near the same pain.
I've heard I was run over, in a headon collision, nailed a pole, smashed into a car with my bike and at least 7 other tall tales. None of it is true. As to who is to blame... the driver and I both are to blame. The driver for not giving me the right of way and me for going too damn fast.
So, I was unable to play drums for all that time because of bruised ribs and spleen along with some muscle damage. I was going insane with pain but also not being able to play drums. A few days ago however, I started drumming again which couldn't make me happier!!!! Before the accident I had picked up a nice set of Tama Superstar drums from a local pawn shop so now I'm finally getting to play them.
So, while I was laid up, both my bands Wishbone and Flat Stanley have been on hold but Flat Stanley kicked back into gear this past week and Wishbone will start recording a few of our new songs soon.
To those who sent all the well wishes and also came by to visit, thanks so very much!! You made the time recovering a hell of a lot more exciting than just lying in bed looking at the ceiling. ;-)
