2 times a year there seems to be something in the air that brings on changes of band members within our local bands. Mid summer and mid winter. This summer is no different. Here are some of the latest changes.
1. Wishbone - now moving onto their 4th drummer in 2 years. Brent Royer is out, and apparently T.J. Case is in. I'm also flattered that my drum parts stumped these guys a bit. Wishbone is a good rock band with a solid writer named Dennis Duguay. It's too bad the rest of the band can't focus on the business at hand.
2. Browbeat - Dutch has struggled with his band for a long time and just can't seem to lock onto the right line up for this all original band. He's finding what I already know that "dedicated" musicians are hard to find in this city. Although Dutch is frustrated, determination always pays off.
3. Turner Up - I've not seen this band but already they've gone through a name change and 2 singers (that I know of). There recent singer was sacked and judging from the fall out, it was an ugly divorce. New singer is Brent Royer who was the drummer for Wishbone after me. Now that is confusing. How do you read into that Mr. Wilson Harrison wherever you are? ;-) Did he quit or get sacked? |O|
4. Sneaky Pete - I'm not sure what happened here but their bassist has left. I do believe they've gone through a few bass players. One of the most anticipated bands this summer will take a bit longer to hit the stage. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
5. Cheesie Smurfy is secretly letting people hear their lame originals from their upcoming CD. So far the reviews I've heard are priceless and I don't mean in a good way |O|. I'm sure their parents will buy copies. I won't. I'll obtain a copy the easy way. I'll wait until people are done laughing at it and wait until it's given to me for free for my own laugh. :-)
6. A few local metal bands are going through changes and you can read about them on Sault Metal Scene. I really don't like to repost info that Rob at SMS already has reported, so visit his site for the latest.
There are a few more I've heard rumours about and I will post them when I get confirmation.
