Local rockers Wishbone apparently played the Rosy this past weekend for a 2 night stint. The Rosy was a fun bar to play back in the day when they use to offer 4 nights of live music. Remember that? Like most bars, the scene kinda dried up when Crapeoke came about. Wishbone appears to be trying to bring music back to that bar. Good for them. Anyone go? I didn't. I had a knitting class and tournament to attend |O|. Still no 2nd album from these guys. Not sure what the hold up is but I may be dead before it comes out |O|. It'll be worth the wait though. It's quite good.
NOW..... why did I call this thread "Smurfy Wishbone"? That's easy.
I want to see if Gsis Murphy has supported Wishbone after screwing them over last year. See where I'm going with all this?
I'll lay odds all Smurfs were quietly at home stroking their egos this past weekend. Did any of the Smurfy flock go see Wishbone at the Rosy? Of course not. You and I both know that the Wishbone guys were totally gullible to actually think being pals with Murphy would bring them anything but emptiness. Again I ask... has being associated with Murphy furthered Wishbone's career? Has it got them more bookings or better bookings? More CD sales? Are they really ....pals?
I'm telling you that the "Band of Chins" as the Murphs have come to be known as, used another local band as their egotistical tampon. When will musicians in this city ever learn this band is out for themselves and nothing more. It's so cute to see Murphy be friends on all these social sites with local bands but deep down all they do is laugh at you. Wake up !!
Hands up Smurfs and followers of Smurfs... How many have bought Wishbone's first CD? What? I don't hear you. Of course not. You couldn't even name one of their songs.
Of course, this is all my opinion and some of my forum members here. Everyone hates my opinion but always reads it haha. Sadly, Wishbone thinks the Murph are pals. HA! My mom use to call this simply "the blind leading the blind". ;-)
We're all awaiting Wishbone's 2nd album and Gsis Murphy's first.
It would be funny if they came out on the same day wouldn't it?
