It's been a little while since I posted on the Garbage Pit section but ya know I love to when I can. :-) In doing so I have to remind people that this section of the forum is dedicated to stupid people who do stupid things in and about our local music scene. It's also the place where I like to remind those who have gone out of their way to be snot heads to me or friends of mine that your antics will be discussed. You also have to get it in your heads that we don't start things on this forum without just cause and that simply means that some of the people we talk about have done something stupid or shitty to us forum members or others and it's our objective to make you realize the error of your ways. That said, there are some that still don't learn their lesson by shutting up or continuing to be assholes. The Garbage Pit is for you baby. ;-) Our local music scene is experiencing a type of rebirth lately and we definitely don't want certain assholes messing that up. What? You say I'm the asshole? I beg to differ. I have done nothing to sour the local music scene as I support as many bands and venues as possible. I also help other bands in both graphic promotion through my business but also on my websites. This forum started out helping local musicians. Finally, I believe in making people aware of egotistical assholes who want to ruin things for others. Those assholes will always be mentioned here until they see the error of their ways. It's quite simple, I, like many others, want to enjoy playing and creating music without having to deal with dickheads that have a few screws loose in their heads or think they're the 2nd coming of Christ. Somewhere along the way, these idiots decided they are the almighty musician Gods and rather than enjoy music, they have to dictate why they are legends in their own minds and ruin it for others. There are some that are wanna be musicians yet instead of focusing on music and working on their chops, they focus on hurting others. This is a good way to get mentioned on the Garbage Pit.
With all that being said, one of our local drum boobs who has produced a stream of insane acts to sour his personality and brighten his lame music career is looking for work. This would be Dr. Phil. If you want a drummer with a spinning head, he's your man. I mention him still because of his wonderful attitude in 2009 and the little attacks he threw at me towards the close of '09 and others during the earlier part of 2009. Think I'm going to forget that? HA~! Not a chance. So while most focused musicians like myself are enjoying the creation of music and the growth of the local music scene, others like Dr. Phil are begging for work. Ironic? Not really. If you attack people in public and you can't even understand why, you don't deserve to move forward. ;-) You do however deserve free room and board in a rubber room.
Oh yes, the almighty "Band of Chins". Let's not forget them eh? The boycott queens of the Soo. You might know them as Jesus Murphy. I call them Jesus because they think they have "the power" to take jobs away from others musicians, dictate what a bar should do, write songs to inflate their egos while trashing others and better yet, sing said songs on stage to try and win over an audience to plainly paint them as the saints of the local music scene who can do no wrong and have done no wrong. Well, as laughable as that sounds, these geezers believe their own hype but as we saw at the end of 2009 with the Battle of the Bands, it blew up big in their faces. We can clearly call them the embarrassment of the local music scene. Of course, I, the Freq never forget such wonderful achievements, if you want to call them that, and you will forever be mentioned in the Freq's Music Planet archives to teach future musicians what NOT to do and what NOT to be. 2010 will be the release year for their first CD since they were called Midpoint or what I like to call Condom Point. What? You didn't know they had a CD out under a different name? You aren't missing a thing. Too be perfectly honest, if you listen to the songs posted now on their website, they're the same songs from the CD with different words. |O| They have not evolved at all in that much time. Still trying to be Bon Jovi. Sad, isn't it? I find it funny to be honest. HA! I can hardly wait to review this upcoming piece of music history on my forum.
There are a few new slimes coming to join the 2 mentioned above. Only time will tell in 2010 if they show their true colours or not.
When you've been around the music scene as long as I have you understand that "every generation has it's musical asshole". We'll see who emerges with that trophy as 2010 moves forward.
On the good side of things, there are a lot of talented musicians being recognized and as long as their attitudes stay in check, I'm sure we'll all enjoy the music they produce and the shows they play.
As for me, The Freq, I'll be here as always doing the same thing on my forum. I love to teach, enjoy, create and absorb as much music as I can but I also like to joke, laugh and talk about what I'm doing and what others are doing. Nothing has changed ;-) Those who know me, understand this to be true. If you just discovered I have a big mouth, you've not been paying attention |O| You can also count on me getting even with jerks who don't play nice ;-)
