There has been a strange rumour flying around about the recent concert at the Machine Shop that featured Treble Charger, Lake Affect and some other band or bands. What I have heard via the rumour mill is that some musicians didn't get paid for this show. As I heard it, the event basically didn't make money. However, the twist to this is that the bar made quite a few grand...roughly 7 grand. Like I said, this is not a proven fact and just rumour at this stage but if this turns out to be true, this sounds like someone with dirty hands funneled some money somewhere. This is one of those things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I'm going to continue to monitor this and I will post info when I get it.
Years ago, some local crook tried to start a blues and jazz festival and in his own shitty way, he ripped off all local acts that participated in the event. This is a fact. I have no info on if the out of town bands got paid but I'm sure the money the locals were suppose to get went to the out of town musicians. How do I know? I was one of the musicians ripped off and the money went somewhere. Well, this Machine Shop gig sounds a little bent like that Blues and Jazz festival. Yeah yeah.... it's Bon Soo!!! How can I say that? Well I did because it seems others have been talking too. This rumour came to me and I'm sharing it with you. If you have any info on this, throw me a message.
