For those who are interested: Friday, June 30th, 2006
The Sault's first live rock n' roll competition. It will be an all ages show, where local bands will showcase their talent.
Each band will be given 15 minutes to showcase their music or their favourite cover material. High school bands are encouraged to enter. Each band will pay a registration fee and will have the chance to market their band and redeem a profit from tickets they sell to the live show. Bands will be judged by three local members of our music community and they will win various prizes including a chance to record their songs in a professional studio.
We are planning for special guests to help local acts market their songs, and assist them in receiving radio airplay.
If you think you have the chops and you want to get your music out there this is a great opportunity for your band.

I'm waiting for "Fossil Fest" for moldy oldy musicians like me.. If you can make it to the venue AND actually find the stage, you get points. ;D You have to pay to enter that also but that includes a bran muffin and a diaper change before the performance.

I've always liked being in battle of bands just for the excitement. Only thing that caused problems in past events like this were the drumset thing. Some drummers set up left handed and some right handed so it's a task to switch the kit around in such a short time frame.
