What gives with Sootoday anyways??? For years we've jammed things in their face about music events around town or like the Rock n Roar concert in Spanish and they basically ignore us, and now this year, 3 years late, they decide to promote the Spanish show. Wow.. They finally woke up. Of course they missed all the fan fare of the Battle of the Bands to see who gets to open for the headliners at the Spanish show. That's news in itself.. Oh wait a minute... They'll cover the Kiss Battle of the Bands but not Canadian Stars in Spanish with local bands. I shake my head in disbelief. This is what happens when people get so full of themselves or lazy. They can't smell a story or they're too lazy or too stuck up to do a story on something that obviously doesn't interest them. Oh well.. this is what we're left with folks when we have no local radio stations or television stations. We're left with the only online snob fest.
Unbelievable that they actually posted something about a concert that doesn't involve any of it's normal 5 band favourites. I'm in total shock. I'll have to check it in the morning just in case it's a dream. Of course did they cover the Rocking on the River concert in it's 5th year? HAHA NO! I'll count that as another Wishbone band snub. That brings the total to 7 or 8 Wishbone events snubbed by this news outfit. 2 Wishbone CD release parties, 2 Rotaryfest appearances, Wishbone opening for the Brandon Paris band (where a Sootoday guy was sitting in a bench seat in the bar and even when asked, wouldn't do a story. Wishbone at the Hot Rides Cornfest at Laird, and the Rocking on the River festival with Wishbone and other locals. I think I missed one... Humane Society fund raiser with all the metal bands including Wishbone. There's probably more.
Anyways.. I know some reporters on Sootoday read my forum (Freq Waves!!!!). Glad to see you've done some small thing right with the Rock n Roar show. I dare you to go and actually report the concert. ;-) That'll never happen. It's too far from Queen Street. Blah!
